Pray for Our Ministry!

Greetings,As you probably know by now we are moving to a new building in November. We are so excited about how God directed us to a very cool building. I am thrilled about ministering in the community around the church. Before we even move one box into the building, let's make a commitment that we'll seek God in prayer everyday. Please make this a part of your prayer list. It's so important the we are covered by God's Holy angels as they prepare our way. There will be spiritual warfare. Satan hates that we'll be in an area where the enemy has had his stronghold for many years. He won't give up without a fight. Pray that God will give us a heart and passion for the homeless, addicts, runaways, and children without any good healthy family environment. We don't even know all the ministry that we'll be involved in. At times it may be uncomfortable, but most real ministry is. Let's just see how God leads and follow in faith his promptings. I love you all so much. What an exciting time to be serving in His kingdom. Hope you can help us move our stuff into storage this Saturday. See you in church at the Cook's Kettle Sunday!

Sunday Volunteers Needed
While we are having Sunday gatherings at Cook's Kettle, we could use help before the service to set up (nursery, breakfast, etc). If you can help, feel free to show up around 9:30.

Current Location for Church

We are meeting at the Cook's Kettle for the next few weeks until we move into our new building at 1700 N. Benton. It's the old Stained Glass Church where Stained Glass Theatre operated for a long time. We are very excited about getting into the building. The problem is, it needs a lot of work done before we can move into it. If you can help in any way we would deeply appreciate it. We need building materials as well as donations to help it get up to shape. We are looking forward to ministering to our neighbors around Commercial Street. Keep us in your prayers.
Blessings,
Pastor Rich

Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Group

Iron Sharpens Iron is dividing! We have seen incredible growth in our men's group that it is time to divide into two groups with more to follow. It's amazing men really do want accountability and spiritual growth in their lives. Dustin Wadley will be leading a group on purity at his house on Wed. at 7PM. Pastor Rich will continue Iron Sharpens Iron at his house on Wed nights, same time. If you have been thinking about joining a men's group now is the time. Included is a link to the study we'll be starting this week at my house on Wednesday Nov.4. Call 417-234-2184This men's group meets at Pastor Rich’s house every Wednesday night at 7PM. We will be studying the book Men of Honor by Mike Cleveland.
Iron Sharpens iron is not about guys sitting around naked beating drums. It is not guys getting in touch with their "inner child." It is not simply another support group or Bible Study. Through Scripture, study questions, mutual accountability, and a weekly discussion group, each man is encouraged to dig deep into his heart and soul to discover who God has created him to be.
We are a few men getting together to share our lives. Guys getting to know each other beyond the casual and superficial; beyond “sports and the weather.” Brothers allowing themselves to be challenged, and held to a higher standard than the world would dictate. Men being honest with each other about their struggles and shortfalls. Guys praying together, and for each other. Brothers growing together toward Christlikeness, reaching their full potential as men of God. And all of this takes place in an atmosphere of love and acceptance, without judgment.
We all need accountability. Accountability partners intentionally invest themselves into the lives of a few other men, meeting together on a regular and consistent basis. It is confessing failures, speaking the truth in love and having trusted men guard your back…no matter what. It is intentionally granting permission for other men to get to know the real you…to provide 100% honesty about what they see missing in your Christian walk…to support you through personal struggles…and to encourage you.
Authenticity: When men remove their mask, other men are willing to do the same. Our goal is being real which leads to real growth because men begin to face and deal with the underlying current in their life that are leading to the issue they may be dealing with. When you are around other men you trust, you can be held accountable by being asked what your actions were in the last week. If you think you want to be a part of this group, you're invited. Hope to see you Wednesday.
Address is 346 S. Foster Springfield. For directions, call 417.234.2184
